Berwick is a middle-class neighborhood made up of a diverse racial and religious population on the east side of Columbus, Ohio just south of the suburb of Bexley, Ohio.〔(Bexley vs. Berwick (and Eastmoor...) - The New Standard, 17 Dec 2003 )〕〔http://wwwphp.dispatch.com/vplayer.php?clip=http://streamfarm.dispatchbroadcast.com/Dispatch/berwick.wmv〕 Developed in the early 1930–1950s, it is known as the home of Columbus' black elite, but also has a strong Jewish community.〔(Berwick: Genuinely connected - Columbus Dispatch, 12 Oct 2008 )〕 According to Census 2000, the total population of the neighborhood was 4,639 with 55% (2,549) being Non-Hispanic Black alone and 41% (1,916) being Non-Hispanic White alone. In 2000, the average annual household income was $61,237. Among households with a Black householder the average household income was $63,372, while those with a White householder it was $58,768.
